AN INTELLIGENT TIMES EVENT
Intelligent Times is a live event series collaboration between The New York Times and Intelligence Squared, bringing together leading New York Times journalists and thought leaders to discuss the key issues facing the globe today.
A promise by parting lovers to meet in front of a library five years later. The creator of a dating app reaching out to his lost love just weeks before her wedding. The lingering, wondering love for a child who was almost adopted but never seen again. All of these true stories – and many more – have populated the much-loved Modern Love column in The New York Times for the last 15 years. The column has become such a success that it is now a podcast, co-hosted by the column’s editor Daniel Jones, a book and an Amazon Prime television series featuring actors including Anne Hathaway, Dev Patel and Tina Fey.
On June 29, Intelligence Squared will bring the magic of Modern Love to our stage. Daniel Jones will be in conversation with the BBC’s Sarah Montague about how he conceived of the column, how it has grown and what he has learned about love and life.
Daniel and Sarah will be joined by a cast of leading actors, who will read out some of the most compelling stories from the column. They will discuss the significance of each one and reveal the often surprising next chapter in the writer’s life.
Join us at Cadogan Hall for an evening of stories about love in all its complicated and beautiful forms and explore with us how the human heart connects.
As part of our collaboration with The New York Times, take advantage of a special digital subscription offer. With investigative reporting and analysis from experts in the field, The New York Times uncovers the stories that impact the world.
