Tayari Jones is the acclaimed author of four novels. Her latest, An American Marriage, is a dazzling, deeply compelling look at the quiet devastation of a Black middle-class family in the US. It was an Oprah’s Book Club selection and appeared on Barack Obama’s much-anticipated annual summer reading list. An American Marriage shot to the top of The New York Times bestsellers list and won the Women’s Prize for Fiction, the Aspen Words Prize and an NAACP Image Award in 2019.
On August 11 she joins Samira Ahmed in this exclusive live recording of How I Found My Voice, the award-winning podcast from Intelligence Squared which explores how some of the world’s greatest artists and thinkers became such compelling communicators. Previous guests include Michael Palin, Bernardine Evaristo, Philip Pullman, Katherine Ryan and Rose McGowan. You can listen to the previous episodes here.
