As an activist and educator with years of difficult conversations under his belt, Ed Winters (known online as Earthling Ed) has made an art of bringing carnivores and vegans together.

In May 2024 Earthling Ed came to Intelligence Squared to make the case for veganism and to teach us all how to become better conversationalists and critical thinkers. He was discussing his latest book How to Argue With a Meat Eater (And Win Every Time) with Jenny Kleeman, acclaimed journalist and author of Sex Robots & Vegan Meat. Ed revealed how to tackle every argument against veganism, from the alleged lack of protein to the idea that it’s too expensive to eat a proper vegan diet.
